Step 1: Upload the Valentine Card SVG to Cricut Design Space
Upload the vinyl Valentine Card SVG to Cricut Design Space. If you need help with uploading SVG files, then check out my tutorial here. Make sure to check the size of your project and adjust if needed. Click on the image (while everything is grouped together) and the width should be 6″ and the height 8.001″.
After resizing your project (if needed), click on “ungroup” to ungroup your layers.

Step 2: Change Cut Lines to Score
Click the drop down arrow for the record layer (3rd layer). Then click on the first layer and change the operation to from “Basic” to “Score”.

Then select the group with both layers (score lines and record) and select “attach”. This will attach the score line to the layer it scores on so your Cricut knows where to score. Repeat this for the card layer (bottom layer) as well.
Note: If you are not using a scoring tool (highly recommend that you do), then delete the cut lines instead.

Step 3: Change Text to Pen
Open the layer with the pink card and select the layer with the text. Then change the operation to “Pen”.
Note: You can delete this layer and add your own text if you want your card to say something different.

Then select the group with the pink card and text together and select attach. This attaches the text to the layer it will write on so your Cricut knows where to write.

Design Tip: Delete the pink layer and attach the pen to the card layer along with the score lines for a simpler card design.

Step 4: Assemble the Card
Like I mentioned before, this is a super easy card to assemble. Start by folding the card in half. Then glue the pink layer to the front of the card, followed by the vinyl record, the heart and then last glue the tonearm (gray piece) on top.
This card fits perfectly in a 4″x6″ envelope. If you don’t have this size, grab my free envelope template to make your own.

I love using craft foam to make the vinyl record. This adds more depth to the card, and you get a great indent from the score lines for a realistic look. But, if you don’t have craft foam on hand, the score lines till show up on the cardstock so you can still throw this together last minute if you need.

Thanks so much for checking out this vinyl record Valentine card. When youโre done, make sure toย post these in my crafting group hereย or tag me if you post them on social media. I absolutely love seeing your crafts and canโt wait to see how these turn out!
