He is Risen Shaker Card

Easter is just around the corner and if you’re looking to celebrate the reason, this He is Risen shaker card is the perfect card for that. Fill the cross with glitter and sequins for a fun shaker effect. Or you can leave the shaker part off for a simpler card.

Follow along with the tutorial below and make sure to post these in my crafting group here or tag me if you post them on social media. I absolutely love seeing your crafts and can’t wait to see how your Easter cards turn out.

Step 1: Upload the He is Risen Shaker Card Template to Cricut Design Space

Upload the He is Risen SVG file to Cricut Design Space. For help with uploading SVG files, check out my tutorial here.

Click on “Ungroup” to ungroup all of your layers. You will need to change the line on top of the card layer and envelope layer to “Score”. To do this, select the rectangle on top of the envelope and select “Score” in the operation menu.

Then select the score lines and your envelope layer together and select “Attach” to attach these together. Repeat these steps for the line on top of your card as well.

Next, change the text “He is not here: for” to pen. To do this, select the text and then change the operation from “Basic Cut” to “Pen”.

Then, attach the pen layer to the blue shape underneath. So select the text and rectangle together, and select “Attach”.

Step 2: Cut

Cut out your card pieces. Remember to add your scoring stylus or wheel as prompted, as well as your pen. You will also need a deep point blade when cutting the clear plastic and craft foam.

  • Cut the light green cross with the transparent plastic
  • Cut the purple layer with the craft foam

Note: If you don’t want to make a shaker card, delete the foam and transparent layers and you can make a regular card instead.

Step 3: Fold & Glue Craft Foam

Start by folding the card in half on the score line. Then, glue the foam on top of the front of the card. Before gluing the foam down, make sure it is facing the correct way by lining up the other layer with the cross cut out on top. Make sure everything lines up as it should and then glue the foam to the front of the card.

Note: Normally I would use either white or blue (the card color or top layer color) for the foam so the foam blends with the colors of the card, but I only had purple on hand when making this tutorial.

Step 4: Fill With Glitter

Fill the cross on the foam layer with glitter and/or small sequins. Then, wipe any extra glitter off of the foam before moving to the next step.

Step 5: Add Transparency Window on Top

Next, glue the clear plastic cross to the inside opening of the top layer of your card. Then glue this on top of the foam. Assemble the flowers and the words “He is Risen” and add these to the front of your card. You can either glue these or use foam dots for more of a 3d look. I am using foam dots for “He is Risen” and gluing the flowers down in this tutorial.

Step 6: Assemble the Envelope

If you would like a coordinating envelope with your He is Risen card, this template does come with one! To assemble this, fold in on all 4 score lines. Then glue the blue liner to the inside of your card behind the cross opening. glue the 2 triangle sides on top of the bottom pieces and your envelope is ready to go!
