Step 1: Upload the Halloween Card SVG to Cricut Design Space

Upload the Halloween Card SVG to Cricut Design Space. If you need help with uploading SVG files, then check out my tutorial here. Make sure to check the size of your project and adjust if needed. Click on the image (while everything is grouped together) and the width should be 31.59″ and the height 18″.

After resizing your project (if needed), click on “ungroup” to ungroup your layers.

Step 2: Add and Attach Score Lines

The base of the card has a few score lines that you need to modify.

To do this, click on the arrow to open the layers in this group. Then click on the group of lines and change the operation from “Basic Cut” to Score.

Then, select the full group with the lines and card layer selected together and select “Attach”. If you do not attach this correctly then your Cricut will not score in the correct place.

Step 3: Adjust Pen Layers

If you want to write on the card holder with Cricut pens, then click on the text layer for this group and change the operation from “Basic Cut” to “Pen”. There are 2 phrases to choose from so delete the phrase that you don’t want.

Then select the text and banner layers together and select “Attach” to attach these together. If you don’t attach these, your Cricut will not know where to write.

Step 4: Cut Everything Out

Once all your modifications are made, select “Make It” to cut everything out. If you are using a scoring tool or pens, make sure to follow the prompts in Cricut Design Space so that you know when to add those.

Step 5: Glue on Decorative Pieces

Glue on all the decorative pieces as show in the pictures below. You will also glue the purple sides to the outside of the 1st design.

Step 6: Attach the Haunted House Card Together

To attach the Halloween card together, place the larger haunted house on top of the base layer upside down. Lay the tab piece down flat and line the outside up with the score line on the base layer. You also want to line this up with the bottom. While holding this in place, fold the tab piece up, add glue and then press this back down to attach.

Continue to repeat this step to line up the other 2 card layers going tallest to shortest. You are lining each one up where the one before it left off. After gluing each one, fold it over to lay flat on top of each other.

Lay the 3 card layers down and apply glue to all 3 of the tab pieces on the other side.

Then press the side over to attach to the card. Press on this and let this dry for a minute or 2 before folding the card open.

Last, attach the front of the card. Just add glue to the front and back of the tab pieces to attach this. Then glue the Happy Halloween banner on the front. You can also glue the ghosts to the card if you want to add the ghosts.

Step 7: Assemble the Envelope

To assemble the envelope, fold in on all 4 of the score lines. If you want to decorate the envelope, glue on each of the decorative pieces.

Then add glue to the 3 tab pieces and layer the other envelope piece on top.Let the envelope dry before adding your card.
