How to Assemble the Turkey Box

Once all of your pieces are cut out, organize them before you start putting the pieces together. Take the turkey base that is slightly larger than the other 2 and pair it with the 2 pieces that you will use to assemble the lid. These are the 2 rectangle pieces that are smaller in the width.

Pair the other 2 turkey bases with the other 2 rectangle pieces. This way you will make sure that you assemble the correct pieces together.

Fold in the tab pieces for both pieces of the bottom of the box and then glue them to the turkey base. Make sure to glue them around the perimeter of the box and then glue the pieces that overlap together. Once this is glued down, glue the other turkey base on top of it to hide the tab pieces.

Next, assemble the turkey by gluing the white piece on top of the orange piece. And then glue the brown piece on top of the white piece. Attach the eyes and the red piece.

Then assemble the top of the lid just as you did with the bottom. But assemble it on the back of the turkey. Make sure to take the same shape that you did with the bottom box. So, you do not bring the pieces around the wings and extra designs on the turkey.

Once all of the tab pieces are glued down, glue down the last brown turkey base to cover all the tabs.

You can either leave the box just like this! Which I think is super cute. Or glue the feathers to the back of the box. And your box is complete!

You may also want to write on the front of the turkey with your Cricut. You can personalize the box with a name or “Happy Thanksgiving”. Or any other cute message. If you need help with this or want suggestions for free writing fonts, then make sure to check out my Cricut writing tutorial here.
