And if you love this box design, I also have this style box as a butterfly gift box, a heart box and a Thanksgiving Turkey box.
How to Make Treat Boxes with your Cricut:
To make these Cricut Christmas treat boxes, you will need:
- Medium or Heavy Weight Cardstock – If you don’t have cardstock on hand, this variety cardstock pack is a great pack to grab, and it has all the colors you will need for these treat boxes.
- Cricut Maker or Explore Cutting Machine and your standard cutting mat.
- Scoring Stylus (which is what I will be using in this tutorial) or Scoring Wheel (Maker only). If your cutting machine doesn’t have the scoring feature, this scoring board and stylus is great to use.
- Glue – This Bearly Art craft glue is my favorite glue for paper crafts!

Step-by-Step Tutorial
Watch the full step-by-step video tutorial to learn how to make these Cricut Christmas treat boxes:
Upload the Christmas box SVG file to Cricut Design Space. Then ungroup your layers by clicking on “ungroup”. Click on the layer with the group of 4 lines (or the square) and then change your operation from “basic cut” to “score”. If you are not using a scoring tool with your Cricut, then delete these layers.
Before cutting, make sure to attach the score lines to your box layer.

To resize the Christmas boxes, just grab the handle to make them smaller or larger. Make sure the proportions are locked and that you resize all layers together. You’ll want to keep the size within the 11.5″x11.5″ if you are using 12″x12″ cardstock. Or you can use letter size cardstock as well and resize these smaller to fit this paper.

Assembling the Cricut Christmas Treat Boxes
To assemble the box, start by gluing the decorative pieces to the outside of the box. You can see the design in Cricut Design Space to see exactly where to glue each piece.
Once this has dried fully, fold on all 4 score lines. Then, bring the Santa hats (or snowman hat, antlers or star) together and press them down. When pressing them down, make sure the sides puff outward instead of inward.

Then, slide the slits over the Santa hat (or snowman hat, antlers or star) to close the box.
These treat boxes are super simple to put together. And all that you need is cardstock to make these. You can easily fill these with small treats or gifts. They also fit great in stockings for Christmas!
