How to Make a Christmas Money Holder with your Cricut
These Christmas money holders are super easy to make! All you need to make these are:
- Medium or Heavy Weight Cardstock in a variety of colors – this is a great variety pack that has multiple shades of brown for the gingerbread characters and reindeer.
- Cricut Maker or Explore Cutting Machine and your standard cutting mat.
- Glue – I recommend this Bearly Art Precision Craft glue. You will need a glue with a fine point tip for gluing some of the smaller pieces.

Step-by-Step Tutorial

When you download the file, you will notice that there are 2 different folders. The folder labeled “Money Holder Ornaments” will have the hole in each character so you can easily hang them as ornaments on the tree. If you don’t want the hole, then use the other file because it won’t have this.

Start by uploading your Christmas money holder SVG to Cricut Design Space. All 6 of the files are on the same file. If there is a design that you don’t want to cut, you can either hide or delete that design.
There are no modifications needed. So, once you have the amount of money holders that you want to cut, you can go ahead and cut your project.

Once everything is cut out, all you need to do is assemble the pieces. These are layered files, so you will be able to match the pieces up and glue them on top of each other.
I recommend lining up all the pieces first, kind of like building a puzzle. And then glue them down. You may have to flip some of the pieces to line them up perfectly. So, lining them up first will keep you from gluing something on backwards.

I also recommend folding the tab pieces (where the money goes) in before gluing this piece. That way you don’t accidently glue them down. You want to make sure that these pieces stay completely unattached so you can fold them up to hold the money.
And that’s all there is to it! If you are making the ornaments, just add your string when you are done.
