If you love making cards with your Cricut, then I have a really fun one for you today! This card was inspired by my daughter’s polaroid camera, as you can see from the camera shutter card design. But the best part about is that it is interactive! You can open and close the shutter to reveal a picture. And it’s pretty easy to make since the shutter card svg is already provided for you.

Assembling the Camera Shutter Card

To assemble the camera shutter card, start by assembling the shutter mechanism. First glue the 2 round pieces with the holes together. Make sure to line up the holes exactly.

Next, take the piece with the tabs and insert all 6 shutter pieces. Make sure all pieces are facing in the same direction.

Fold up on each of the tabs on the shutter pieces and insert into the holes on the piece that you glued together. Fold the tab pieces over to connect the pieces. Repeat this for all 6 shutter pieces.
Note: Make sure that the pull tab is at the bottom where the tabs are before the empty space. You want the empty space positioned where you can pull up on the tab to close the shutter mechanism.

Then, flip over your shutter mechanism and fold the back tabs towards the middle.

Place your cut circle piece on top of the tabs that you pulled through and then glue the tabs to this piece to connect the shutter mechanism together. Make sure to use just a little bit of glue because you don’t want the glue to seep into the rest of your shutter mechanism.

Then, glue the other round piece on top to hide the tabs.

And your shutter mechanism is ready to go! To attach it to the card, just glue the back in between the tabs. Make sure that you don’t glue the tabs down. Use very little glue so it doesn’t spread. If the tabs get glued down, the shutter mechanism will not work.

Before attaching the shutter mechanism, make sure to attach your photo under where the shutter opens up. Then, glue down the flash piece, hearts and shutter and your card is ready to go!
