How to Make these New Year’s Eve Glasses with a Cricut:
There are a few different ways to use this New Year’s Eve glasses SVG file to create these festive glasses. You can either glue cardstock, use adhesive vinyl or iron on vinyl. And I am going to walk you through the steps for each method.
To make these festive glasses for New Year’s Eve, you will need:
- Black Heavy Weight Cardstock – I recommend using at least an 80lb heavy weight cardstock, but a 110lb heavy weight cardstock will be even better! Anything lighter is going to be too flimsy.
- Cricut Maker or Explore Cutting Machine and your standard cutting mat.
- Scoring Stylus (which is what I will be using in this tutorial) or Scoring Wheel (Maker only).
- Gold Vinyl or Cardstock – I am using this double-sided gold glitter cardstock and this gold glitter iron on vinyl.
- Glue – This Bearly Art craft glue is what I am using for the cardstock version of these glasses.
- White Cardstock or Vinyl
- A mini heat press if you are using iron on vinyl (which is my preferred methood)

Step-by-Step Tutorial
Watch the full step-by-step video tutorial to learn how to assemble these New Year’s Eve glasses.
Note: This files have been updated since this video and tutorial were made to include the 2024 New Year’s glasses design.
Upload the New Year’s Eve glasses SVG file to Cricut Design Space. Then ungroup your layers by clicking on “ungroup”. Click on the layer with the group of 2 lines and then change your operation from “basic cut” to “score”. If you are not using a scoring tool with your Cricut, then delete these layers.

And then attach those score lines to the pieces below it. Repeat this for all 6 of the glasses.

To assemble the glasses, you’re just going to layer the pieces on just as they look in the designs. You can do this using cardstock, adhesive vinyl or iron on vinyl.
To assemble these using cardstock, just glue your card pieces in place. If you are using adhesive vinyl, then just peel and stick each piece on like a sticker.

Then to assemble the side pieces, just fold on the tab lines and glue them to the inside of the glasses. I prefer using hot glue for this part.
How to Assemble New Year’s Glasses with Iron on Vinyl
To assemble these New Year’s Eve glasses with iron on vinyl, start by weeding your vinyl once it is cut. Then place it on top of your cardstock. Using a mini heat press, adhere the iron on vinyl to your cardstock.

Make sure that you use the lowest heat setting when adhering iron on vinyl to cardstock. And you’ll only need to press down for about 5 seconds for the vinyl to adhere to the cardstock. Remove the clear layer once it’s attached. For a full step-by-step video on how to apply the iron on vinyl, you can watch the video here.
Once you attach the sides of the glasses, these are ready to go!
